GMA Network, Inc. began streaming a teaser trailer for “Voltes V Legacy“, the live-action reboot of the classic anime series Chōdenji Machine Voltes V or Voltes V. The Philippines-based production will create the new series licensed by Toei Company, Ltd. through its Philippine-licensor Telesuccess Productions, Inc with Mark A. Reyes as one of the heads of production.
Toei Animation and Nippon Sunrise broadcasted the anime series on TV Asahi from June 4, 1977, to March 25, 1978. Voltes V is the second installment of the Robot Romance Trilogy, which also includes Chōdenji Robo Combattler V and Tōshō Daimos.
Voltes V Legacy is a CGI live-action series. The humans will be played by real people, but all the backgrounds and the mechs will be rendered in 3D. The entire production will be done in the Philippines by GMA in partnership with Riot Inc. Post Production with the supervision and approval by TOEI.
Voltes V Legacy is scheduled to be released this 2020.
