New Gods: Tom King and Ava DuVernay Teams up To Writer Script.

The Wrap is reporting that Batman and Mister Miracle writer, Tom King, will co-write “The New Gods” live-action adaptation screenplay with the film director ,Ava DuVernay.

King received the Eisner Award for Best Writer in July 2018, for his work on Batman and Mister Miracle. The Mister Miracle centered around Mister Miracle and Big Barda and also features the New Gods.

The New Gods were created and designed by Jack Kirby, they first appeared in February 1971 in New Gods #1

Billions of years ago, a cataclysm split the planet Urgrund in two, forming the twin planets of New Genesis, a sunlit utopia, and Apokolips, an industrialized wasteland. Their populations became known as the New Gods, the immortal denizens of the cosmos who existed outside the constraints of earthly time and space.
