Jared Leto Willing To Reprise His Role as The Joker, Not Sure About Birds of Prey.

Jared Leto says he’s open to return as the crown prince of crime , Joker. However, he may or may not make an appearance the upcoming DC film Birds of Prey. The Oscar winning made the reveal in a recent interview with Variety and iHeart’s podcast The Big Ticket.




“I would definitely play the Joker again. It all depends on the script and the circumstances as it always does,” Leto revealed to Variety.

Could Birds of Prey have been that script and circumstance? “I don’t think so. You’d have to ask them,” the actor responded, adding “Well, we’ll see.”

After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young Cassandra Cain from an evil crime lord.

Cathy Yan will direct the movie with a script by Christina Hodson. Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Back Canary, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Chris Messina as serial killer Victor Zsasz, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain.

 

 



Leto is set to star as Morbius in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off about Michael Morbius the Living Vampire alongside Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa with a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Morbius is part of Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff universe.

Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, Dr. Michael Morbius PhD gained vampiric abilities and physical traits after a biochemical experiment that was supposed to cure him from a rare blood disease went disastrous. The character made his first appearance as an antagonist in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 (Oct. 1971), but with time Morbius went on to become a hero in his own series and other titles.

 

 

Jared first portrayed the Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie (2016). The new Suicide Squad movie is being directed by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn.

Morbius has a 31 July 2020 release date and Birds of Prey a 7 February 2020 release date.
