Nezha anime film has now reached $507M in China after 2 weeks on release.

Nezha has now grossed $507.4m in China alone after the film brought in an addition $64.5m only after two weeks on release. The film directed by 39-year-old Yang Yu, broke Zootopia’s $220m (RMB 1.5bn) record on August 2 to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time in China.

Nezha is a little boy who fought evil dragons and killed himself as a statement to his parents, then later was brought back to life by his deity mentor and was reborn from a lotus flower with three heads and six arms, eventually becoming a deity himself.

Nezha became popular in 1979’s film “Nezha Conquers the Dragon King “. Nezha has appear in numerous media projects, including television series and video games.
