It has been 30years since Kentaro Miura launched BERSERK. Now the mangaka has revealed that the manga series is approaching its conclusion. Miura made the reveal in a recent interview with Natalie regarding his new series Duranki . In addition, the manga author also revealed that the series will have lots of shocking moments.
According to a translation of the interview posted on the Manga Helpers forum, Miura said BERSERK is "currently in the later stages of its overall story. Lot of shocking things coming up after the current arc."
Miura also revealed that he plans to use his new series as an opportunity to improve his assistants' skills so that he will be more comfortable offloading more of Berserk work to his assistants to speed up new chapters releases.
Miura released BERSERK a prototype in 1988. He launched the actual manga series in the now-defunct magazine Monthly Animal House in 1989. The series first television anime show ran from October 1997 to March 1998. The series was produced by Oriental Light and Magic. The show will also received a trilogy of films, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc. The anime film was released in 2012. The manga second anime TV adaptation was broadcast in 2016 and 2017 for a total of twenty-four episodes.
