Netflix announces original TV anime series Gods & Heroes.

Netflix announced today that the company is developing a brand-new original anime series titled “Gods & Heroes” set in the world of Greek mythology. The first season of the original anime series from Powerhouse Animation, the company behind Castlevania, will have 8 episodes.

“In Gods & Heroes we wanted to tell a wholly original story set in the beloved world of Greek mythology,” creators Vlas and Charley Parlapanides said in an official statement. “We are thankful for such an amazing cast and for such great creative partners at Netflix and Powerhouse Animation, who continue to push the envelope and expand the anime genre in a manner we had only dreamed of.”

The anime show will feature the voice of Jason O’Mara (the DC Animated Universe’s Batman), Iron Fist’s Jessica Henwick, Mamie Gummer (Robot Chicken, True Detective) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Batman Unlimited).

Netflix has yet to announce the release date for Gods & Heroes anime series.
